Job Summary
As a Children Law Solicitor, you will manage a caseload of public children law and care proceedings matters, providing high-quality advice, representation and client care.
The role will initially offer a high level of autonomy, with support from an established wider practice. As the local team develops, there will be the opportunity to support, mentor and guide junior colleagues.
This position offers hybrid working, professional support and the chance to play a meaningful role in the growth of a specialist regional service.
Your Role
You will take responsibility for your own caseload of care proceedings and related public children law matters, ensuring clients receive clear, professional and empathetic legal support. You will work closely with colleagues across the wider practice, maintain high standards of file management and client care, and contribute to the development of the local service. Over time, you may support junior colleagues such as paralegals, trainees or other fee earners, helping to create a strong and effective regional team.
About You
You will be a qualified Solicitor, CILEX or FCILEX professional with strong experience in care proceedings and public children law. You will be confident managing your own caseload, working with vulnerable clients and maintaining excellent professional standards. Experience mentoring or supporting others would be highly beneficial, particularly for someone looking to progress into a more senior or supervisory role. Strong relationships within this area of law would also be valuable.
