Customer Support Advisor

Are you a calm, confident and empathetic communicator who enjoys helping people feel informed, reassured and supported? My Client is an exciting start-up looking for an exceptional Customer Support Advisor to become a trusted voice for its customers.

This is not a traditional call centre role. You will not be rushing conversations or pushing sales. Instead, you will take time to listen, understand each customer’s needs, and provide clear, thoughtful support across phone, email and web chat.

Please note: the first week of training will take place on-site in London, with expenses paid. After this, the role will be primarily home-based, with occasional time in London for training and team connection.

Job Summary

As a Customer Support Advisor, you will handle customer enquiries with empathy, professionalism and care. You will take ownership of each interaction from start to finish, helping customers understand information clearly, navigate decisions confidently and resolve queries in a supportive way.

You will be joining a growing start-up with clear values, big ambitions and a genuine commitment to delivering an excellent customer experience. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to do meaningful work, contribute ideas and be part of building something new.

Your Role

You will support customers across phone, email and web chat, responding to enquiries with patience, clarity and confidence. You will explain complex topics in simple, human terms, adapt your tone to suit each individual situation, and ensure every customer feels listened to and respected. You will work independently from home while staying closely connected with the wider team, sharing feedback, learning new systems and helping shape what great customer service looks like as the business grows.

About You

You will be a naturally thoughtful communicator who listens carefully, responds calmly and creates trust through every interaction. You will be comfortable working independently, confident using IT systems and open to learning new ways of working. Previous customer service experience is important, ideally gained in a regulated or process-led environment, but your attitude, communication style and ability to support people with care will be just as important.

Some Bullet Points About You

  • Previous experience in customer service, customer support or a similar advisor role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Calm, patient and empathetic approach
  • Confident handling customer enquiries by phone, email and web chat
  • Able to explain information clearly and simply
  • Strong attention to detail and ownership of tasks
  • Comfortable working from home after initial training
  • Good IT skills and willingness to learn new systems
  • Able to attend the first week of training on-site in London, expenses paid
  • Positive, pragmatic and professional attitude
