A large, people-focused organisation is looking for a Payroll Administrator to join its dedicated payroll team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous payroll experience who enjoys working with accuracy, confidentiality and clear deadlines.

You will play an important role in ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time, while helping maintain accurate payroll, pension and statutory records.

Job Summary

As Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for processing payroll for allocated departments, ensuring all tasks are completed in line with internal procedures, agreed deadlines and statutory requirements.

You will manage payroll data, process timesheets, handle queries and support the accurate administration of pensions, deductions and employee payments. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to work with sensitive information professionally and confidentially.

Your Role

You will plan and manage your own workload to ensure payroll tasks for your allocated departments are completed accurately and on time. You will process employee timesheets and payroll information, make authorised payments, update payroll records and support the administration of tax, National Insurance, pensions, statutory sick pay, maternity, paternity and adoption-related payments. You will also complete manual calculations where required, process attachment of earnings orders, check permanent and temporary payroll changes, and help resolve payroll queries in a courteous and confidential manner.

About You

You will have previous experience in payroll administration and be confident using computerised payroll systems to input and process data. You will understand the importance of accuracy, confidentiality and compliance when handling employee information. You will be comfortable working to deadlines, identifying discrepancies and either resolving issues or escalating them when needed. Strong written and verbal communication skills will be important, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
